Pacific Ties releases quarterly zines, in which all members of the publication are invited to contribute
their written or visual pieces regarding that quarter’s theme. In the past, we have explored topics such as
rage, desire, and nostalgia. As part of the design team, I have the opportunity to collaborate with writers
to design page spreads that capture their creative vision, while maintaining readability and accessibility.
Because this requires collaboration between the writers, copy editors and editor-in-chief, I have gained
invaluable skills in communicating effectively with other members in my publication, beyond the design team.
